Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 July 2026

These Terms govern access to and use of adiyo.co.uk and any instructor booking page hosted on a *.adiyo.co.uk subdomain, operated by Arcscribe Ltd, registered in England and Wales, 18 Colegate, Norwich, NR3 1BQ. By creating an account, accessing a booking page, or making a booking, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Adiyo is

Adiyo provides Approved Driving Instructors with a booking website, live availability calendar, and payment processing tool, allowing pupils to view available lesson slots and pay for lessons online.

Adiyo is a software platform. We are not a driving school, we do not employ Instructors, and we do not provide driving tuition. The contract for driving lessons is between the Instructor and the Pupil. Adiyo's role is limited to providing the booking and payment technology that connects them.

2. Eligibility

To register as an Instructor, you must hold one of the following:

  • A valid DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) badge, or
  • A valid DVSA trainee licence (PDI)

and in either case must also:

  • Hold valid insurance appropriate to providing driving tuition
  • Be legally entitled to provide driving instruction in the United Kingdom

Adiyo does not independently verify ADI or PDI status or insurance as a condition of registering. By registering, you confirm that the above is true and that you will maintain valid status and insurance for as long as you use the Service. You must notify us and stop using the Service if either lapses, or if a PDI trainee licence expires without progressing to full ADI status.

Instructors may optionally upload a photo of their ADI/PDI badge or licence for review. If approved, a "Verified Instructor" badge is shown on that Instructor's booking page. This badge reflects a one-off visual check of the uploaded document by Adiyo staff at a point in time. It is not a guarantee, ongoing verification, or endorsement of the Instructor's qualifications, and does not affect the Instructor's own responsibility for maintaining valid status and insurance under this Section.

PDIs must clearly disclose their trainee status on their booking page.
This is not optional. A PDI's Adiyo profile must display, in a way clearly visible to Pupils before booking, that the Instructor holds a trainee licence rather than a full ADI qualification. Presenting trainee status as full ADI qualification, or vice versa, is a breach of these Terms and grounds for immediate account suspension.

To book a lesson as a Pupil, you must be legally eligible to receive the type of driving tuition being booked, for example holding a valid provisional licence for car lessons where required.

3. Instructor accounts

When you register as an Instructor, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current information, including your name, contact details, hourly rate, and any profile content such as photos, bio, and service areas
  • Keep your account details up to date
  • Be solely responsible for the accuracy of your availability calendar
  • Be solely responsible for the conduct, quality, and safety of any lessons you provide
  • Comply with all applicable laws and DVSA standards relating to driving instruction

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate an Instructor's account at our discretion, including but not limited to cases of fraud, safety concerns, misuse of the Service, or breach of these Terms.

4. Account verification

Before viewing an Instructor's live availability calendar or booking a lesson, a Pupil must verify their email address. This is done by requesting a one-time 6-digit code sent to the email address they provide, and entering that code to confirm it.

Once verified, we create a lightweight record (a "Pupil Account") linked to that email address. This lets a Pupil see their booking history and any lessons reserved specifically for them, without needing a password, when they return and re-verify the same email address. A Pupil Account does not itself hold payment details or require a password.

Pupils are responsible for the accuracy of the email address they verify and for keeping access to that email account secure, since it is the means by which their booking history and identity on the Service are recognised. Adiyo is not liable for any consequence of a Pupil losing access to, or sharing, the email account they used to verify.

5. Bookings and payments

Booking a lesson

When a Pupil books a lesson, payment is taken in full at the time of booking via Stripe. This confirms the booking and reserves the slot with the Instructor.

Cancellations and refunds

All cancellations and refunds are at the sole discretion of the Instructor. Adiyo does not process refunds on an Instructor's behalf and is not responsible for refund decisions.

Pupils are encouraged to give at least 24 hours' notice if they need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, though this is not enforced by Adiyo and Instructors are not obliged to offer a refund or rearranged lesson for late cancellations.

Instructors are responsible for communicating their own cancellation policy to their Pupils, for example via their booking page bio.

Adiyo is free for Instructors

Adiyo does not charge Instructors a subscription, listing, or commission fee. Instructors are transferred the full lesson price they set, via Stripe Connect, directly to their own connected bank account. Adiyo does not hold, control, or have access to lesson payment funds.

The booking fee

Instead, Adiyo charges the Pupil a small convenience fee at checkout, shown separately from the lesson price before payment is taken: 3% of the lesson price plus 30p per booking. For recurring weekly lessons, a 3% fee applies to each weekly payment instead, as our payment provider does not support adding a flat fee to recurring charges. This fee is retained by Adiyo and is separate from the amount transferred to the Instructor.

6. Liability

Adiyo is a booking and payment platform. We are not a party to, and accept no liability for, the lesson itself, including but not limited to the quality of tuition, the conduct of the Instructor or Pupil, any accident, injury, loss, or damage arising from a lesson, or any dispute between an Instructor and a Pupil.

Instructors are solely responsible for the lessons they provide, and for holding adequate insurance to cover their own liability in connection with those lessons.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Adiyo's liability to any user of the Service is limited to direct losses arising from our own negligence in operating the Service, and shall not exceed the total booking fees Adiyo retained in connection with the relevant Instructor's bookings in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any statutory rights a Pupil holds as a consumer under UK consumer protection law.

7. Availability of the Service

We aim to keep the Service available and operating correctly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for any loss arising from downtime, technical issues, or interruptions to the Service, including any resulting impact on an Instructor's ability to take bookings.

We may update, change, or discontinue features of the Service from time to time.

8. Intellectual property

The Adiyo name, logo, and platform software remain the property of Arcscribe Ltd. Instructors retain ownership of any content they upload, such as their bio and photos, but grant Adiyo a licence to display that content on their booking page and, where relevant, in connection with promoting the Service.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example as the Service develops or as legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated to Instructors via email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Service are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
